Food Safety Begins with Smarter Cleaning

In the food processing industry, hygiene is not a choice, it’s a mandate. At Korutek, we help our customers meet the highest standards in food safety and efficiency with our Clean-In-Place (CIP) System. A fully automated, low-intervention solution tailored for Spiral Freezers, Chillers, and Coolers and IQF systems.

Our CIP system ensures consistent, traceable and validated cleaning with minimal disruption to operations and it’s much easier to maintain compliance with food safety standards.

Why Choose CIP?

Traditional cleaning methods are labour-intensive, time-consuming, and prone to inconsistency. They often miss the places where bacteria like Listeria monocytogenes can thrive.

Korutek’s CIP system ensures full-surface contact, reaching into hidden crevices and critical hygiene zones where contamination risks are highest. It streamlines the process—automatically applying a neutral pH detergent across belts and support structures to prevent grease build-up, eliminating bacteria, and extending machine life.

Unlike other cleaning systems that offer limited traceability—our CIP systems deliver a more consistent, verifiable, and equipment-safe sanitation process with every cycle.

Tailored CIP Options to Match Your Operation

At Korutek, all our Spiral Freezers, Chillers, Coolers and IQF systems come standard with an Automated Track & Clean System—providing reliable, consistent sanitation of the main belt and drive path without manual intervention.

For advanced and comprehensive hygiene control, we offer the following three enhanced CIP system configurations to match the scale and complexity of your sanitation needs:

$

Option 1: Enhanced Belt Wash and Dry System (2-Zone CIP)

A highly efficient entry-level CIP solution ideal for belt-focused sanitation:

  • Rotary nozzles for top-of-drum rinsing and foaming
  • Grundfos booster pump ensures consistent pressure
  • V-jet nozzles above and below the belt for targeted cleaning
  • Air-purged manifold for better foam delivery
  • Detergent and disinfectant injection with level sensors
  • Integrated Air Knife System rapidly dries the belt post-rinse, preventing microbial growth and ensuring the system is ready for immediate reuse
$

Option 2: Mini CIP System (4-Zone)

A mid-range solution offering expanded zone-specific cleaning:

  • Includes belt rinse, belt foam, side drum foam, and top rinse zones
  • Internal spray bar with heated joint (requires a central drum spigot)
  • Enhanced nozzle coverage for improved reach across surfaces
  • Controlled via PLC or optional electrical panel
  • Better suited for systems requiring more comprehensive sanitation
$

Option 3: Full CIP System (7-Zone)

Our most advanced and complete solution for full system hygiene:

  • All features of Option 2, plus:
    • Upper and lower walkway nozzle loops for total enclosure cleaning
    • Dedicated evaporator spray bars
  • Full 360° coverage of belt, drum, walkways, and cooling coils
  • Ideal for operations with high hygiene validation requirements
  • Water booster tank optional for enhanced system pressure and reliability

How it works

L

Warm the System

Start the cleaning cycle only when internal temperature rises above 0°C.

L

Select a Mode

Choose between a full deep-clean or a quick belt rinse, based on your sanitation schedule.

L

Connect the Detergent

Simply insert the pipe from the detergent cabinet into a 20L bottle of neutral pH solution.

L

Initiate Cleaning

Use the top-mounted selector switch to activate both the spiral and the CIP cycle.

L

Let It Run

The spiral auto-adjusts and perform a full cleaning sequence. If paused, a green flashing LED will indicate standby faults can be cleared easily, and the cycle resumes.

L

Post-Clean Drying

Evaporator fans can be ran at the end of the cleaning cycle for a predefined period, so the belt can be effectively dried before restarting production.

CIP vs Standard Wash System

A step up from conventional cleaning setups

Feature / FunctionKorutek CIP SystemStandard Wash System
Cleaning CoverageFull coverage of belt, support structure, drum, column, and evaporatorLimited to belt zone and key product-contact areas only
Automation LevelFully automated with integrated pause-resume and mode selectionSemi-automated; requires more manual control and follow-up
Cleaning ModesTwo modes: Full cycle & Quick rinseUsually a fixed single-cycle spray system
Detergent HandlingAuto-injection of neutral pH detergent; safe for food-grade stainless steelRequires manual detergent application or external dosing
Cycle Feedback & RecoveryIntelligent system resumes from the exact paused stepTypically resets or requires full restart
Water EfficiencyControlled detergent flow and water usage throughout the cycleHigh water usage; fixed flow rates (e.g. 220 L/min)
System CompatibilityDesigned for custom integration and retrofitFixed components; not adaptable to deeper cleaning
Maintenance & Wear ReductionHelps prevent mechanical strain, belt tension issues, and corrosionBasic cleaning; grease build-up over time still likely
Compliance ReadinessEasier hygiene validation for audits (BRC, HACCP, FDA)May require additional manual validation steps

Why Our Customers Prefer CIP

N

Reaches critical areas—hidden crevices, belt undersides, and structural zones

N

Uses safe, non-corrosive detergents to break down fat, protein, and biofilm

N

Offers documented, traceable cleaning cycles that make audit compliance easier

N

Reduces water and chemical consumption for a more sustainable process

N

Enhances food safety by minimising cross-contamination and microbial risks

Thinking of Retrofitting Your Existing System?

No need for a full equipment replacement—Our engineers can evaluate your current spiral freezer or cooler and help retrofit it with a compatible CIP unit, bringing your system in line with modern sanitation best practices—without replacing the entire machine.
