Rahim Ali is the Managing Director and founder of Korutek Engineering Ltd, a specialist engineering company delivering advanced cooling and freezing solutions to the global food production sector.

Since establishing the business in 2016, he has grown Korutek into a trusted partner for major manufacturers, recognised for agile engineering, technical innovation, and high-performance systems.

With over 15 years’ experience in industrial freezing and processing, Rahim’s background spans project delivery, commercial leadership and solution development. He began his career with global engineering group GEA and has since worked both within and alongside competing organisations across the sector, delivering complex projects and gaining a detailed understanding of industry practices, limitations and opportunities for improvement.

Rahim’s leadership is defined by a clear focus on solving the shortcomings of traditional industry approaches. By identifying gaps in both equipment capability and customer service, he has positioned Korutek to deliver engineering solutions that are more responsive, more efficient and better aligned to real-world production demands.

He also led the integration of the Eurotek brand, securing technical knowledge behind a significant installed base of equipment worldwide. This has strengthened Korutek’s ability to support and upgrade existing systems while informing the development of new, next-generation solutions.

In addition to his work in engineering, Rahim has founded and developed businesses in the publishing and food supply chain sectors, reflecting a broader entrepreneurial mindset and a strong track record in building and growing ventures.

As Managing Director, Rahim leads Korutek’s strategic direction, with a focus on innovation, capability development and sustainable growth.

Gerard Bird is Engineering Director and Co-founder of Korutek Engineering Ltd, a specialist engineering company delivering advanced cooling and freezing solutions to the global food production sector.

Since starting the business, he has been the driving force behind the engineering and technical knowledge Korutek has delivered to their customers, Korutek has become recognised for agile engineering, technical innovation, and reliability.

With over 25 years’ experience in industrial freezing and processing, Gerard has Personally project managed, designed, produced engineering drawings and calculations that have delivered more than 100 industrial freezers. He began his career as a machinist, welder and fabricator, he then moved into prototype engineering with a leading lifting equipment specialist. In his late 20s, Gerard moved into the industrial freezer sector with Eurotek Engineering Ltd, it was here where he acquired the skills and expertise in industrial freezers.

Gerard is defined by his ability to resolve problems, finding solutions to issues that others can’t and then implementing the projects required to resolve the situation.

Having the skills and belief to resolve problems doesn’t come over night or by chance, it grows over a lifetime of implementing projects and acquiring the skills required to have the knowledge to attempt the difficult.

As Engineering Director, Gerard helps to lead both Korutek new product developments and its engineering support of existing freezer installations, throughout the world.

Lindsey’s career has been focused on transforming and improving global businesses. He specialises in operational and process improvement with associated fiscal savings and revenue growth alongside comprehensive people management and development. His operational and manufacturing experience centers around workflow optimisation and financial control, with the incorporation of Lean methodologies - he is a certified Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt. He works with technical experts to facilitate change, combining this with the alignment of new team approaches and work practices and provides strategic leadership, being able to assimilate total business positions quickly, identifying the root cause of issues and addressing these directly with rapid results.
