What is the process for entering into Korutek’s SMA?
Transparency is critical to a successful SMA. Therefore, before entering into an agreement, our engineers conduct a comprehensive inspection. It covers all possible scenarios to reveal problems present in the system at various states, namely:
Operational and contaminated – uncleaned;
Non-operational and uncontaminated – cleaned;
Operational at ambient temperature; and
Operational at the beginning of the cooldown period.
The rationale is to ascertain the system’s condition and evaluate whether it works to its maximum capacity in line with HSE requirements. At the same time, our engineers resolve any minor issues whilst on site and, to avoid any unplanned downtime or breakdowns, identify potential critical problems.
What is the scope of work of a Korutek SMA?
29-point check on conveyor system;
18-point electrical check;
13-point check on enclosure;
7-point check on cleaning system;
Undertake additional checks on air loss, overdrive, and belt hold downs;
Maintenance visits – determined following inspection;
A certified Korutek engineer will conduct the inspection;
Carry out minor repairs where possible;
Replace gearbox oils;
Present a full system condition report following every inspection, incorporating recommendations based on priority:

- Urgent and critical work;
- Essential replacements that are necessary;
- Strong recommendations that are a long-term requirement; and
- Preferable but optional replacement recommendations.
