Gerard Bird is Engineering Director and Co-founder of Korutek Engineering Ltd, a specialist engineering company delivering advanced cooling and freezing solutions to the global food production sector.

Since starting the business, he has been the driving force behind the engineering and technical knowledge Korutek has delivered to their customers, Korutek has become recognised for agile engineering, technical innovation, and reliability.

With over 25 years’ experience in industrial freezing and processing, Gerard has Personally project managed, designed, produced engineering drawings and calculations that have delivered more than 100 industrial freezers. He began his career as a machinist, welder and fabricator, he then moved into prototype engineering with a leading lifting equipment specialist. In his late 20s, Gerard moved into the industrial freezer sector with Eurotek Engineering Ltd, it was here where he acquired the skills and expertise in industrial freezers.

Gerard is defined by his ability to resolve problems, finding solutions to issues that others can’t and then implementing the projects required to resolve the situation.

Having the skills and belief to resolve problems doesn’t come over night or by chance, it grows over a lifetime of implementing projects and acquiring the skills required to have the knowledge to attempt the difficult.

As Engineering Director, Gerard helps to lead both Korutek new product developments and its engineering support of existing freezer installations, throughout the world.
